Every parents should understand the below questions and answers before the Admission

It is a child’s natural ability to learn quickly and easily without any effort. From birth to 6 years, children absorb everything from their surroundings like a sponge — language, culture, and habits.

It is the child’s special power to adjust to their environment. The child not only learns from the environment but also becomes a part of it. By simply living in a place, the child naturally absorbs its language, customs, and way of life.

It is a teaching technique used by Montessori teachers. When showing a difficult task to a child, the teacher breaks it into small, simple steps. Each step is shown slowly and clearly. This helps the child to learn easily and do it successfully on their own.

‘Children’s House’ is the English meaning of Casa dei Bambini, the first Montessori school started by Dr. Maria Montessori. It is a specially prepared, safe and secure place for children aged 3 to 6 years to live, learn and grow. It has everything a child needs for their complete development.

Concentration is the ability to focus deeply on one task for a long time. Dr. Montessori believed that if the classroom is prepared with the right materials that match the child’s needs, the child’s energy will naturally become focused. This deep focus helps the child learn and master things better.

It means learning from hands-on experience first, then moving to ideas in the mind. First, the child is given a concrete material to touch and work with. Through this experience, the child’s mind understands the idea behind it. Later, as the child grows, they can understand the same idea in an abstract or symbolic form.

Independence means not depending on others. In Montessori, a child naturally wants to become more independent at every stage — like learning to wean, walk, and talk. The child’s inner voice says, “Help me to help myself.”

Nature’s way of preparing the child’s mind for the future. The child does an activity for fun now, but it is indirectly preparing them for a bigger concept later. For example, a young child enjoys joining triangle shapes. This is preparing their mind for geometry later.

Children learn not only from direct lessons, but also by simply observing. Because children have an absorbent mind, they learn by watching other children work, by overhearing a lesson given to someone else, and by absorbing behaviour and language from their surroundings.

It is a Montessori teaching method where the difficult part of a task is taught separately first. For example, how to hold and use scissors is taught first, before cutting zig-zag lines. How to fold a cloth is taught before table washing. The task should be just right — not too hard or too easy.

Helping children fall in love with language from day one. In a Montessori classroom, children listen to true stories, songs, rhymes and poems every day. The teacher speaks beautifully and listens to the children respectfully. Looking at beautiful books with real pictures is also part of this.

For children, work is very different from adult work. An adult works to finish a task and stops when the goal is achieved. A child works for an inner goal — to build themselves. So, the child will repeat the same activity again and again until that inner need is satisfied. This helps them control their movements and learn a new skill.

A sensitive period is a short time when a child is naturally very interested in learning a particular skill. During this time, the child shows deep concentration and will repeat the activity many times without needing any reward. For example, during the sensitive period for order, children love activities that involve arranging and ordering things.

Sensorial materials are special Montessori materials that help children develop their intelligence through their senses. Each material focuses on just one quality — like color, size, or shape. By touching and working with these materials again and again, the child learns concepts clearly through experience, not just through words.

It is a Montessori teaching principle. Children are first introduced to an idea in its simplest form. As they understand it and grow, they are then introduced to more complex ideas and connections.

Socialization is the process of learning how to be a good member of a social group. A child learns the knowledge, behaviour and attitudes needed to live well with others. In Montessori, best social learning happens when children of different ages are together in the same class.
